We are Dog Friendly
Aynsome has been designed with our four-legged friends in mind while at the same time respecting those guests who are not so inclined So although we are an adult orientated hotel, with children under the age of 18 not encouraged, well behaved dogs are.
There are currently four rooms specifically designed to accommodate dogs which are rooms 5-8 on the first floor. This floor also has its own private staircase that is separate from the rest of the hotel. Dog Owners can check in with their dogs at the main reception, but dogs are not allowed in the other public areas.
However, you do have your own parking area, entrance and a dog and owners room “Bamford’s” where you can relax and meet with like-minded folk. For those who love long walks with their dog there is nowhere better than the Lake District however it can often be wet and muddy, and we know our dogs just love that, so there is also a special “après walk doggy wash” with hot and cold water which we encourage you to use. To this end, please feel free to bring their own dressing gown for their post shower comfort or alternatively, we can provide one for you upon request.
It’s also possible to take breakfast with your dog in the morning should you both so wish. You will just have to organise this with House Manger when you check in. In the evening, likewise, if you want a beer or cocktail together all can be arranged in Bamford’s for you. We can also provide dog bowls for food and water which can be used in Bamford’s or in the Courtyard immediately adjacent. Your best friend’s food can also be stored for you, but we find most people prefer to keep it in their vehicle.
For those who want to venture out on your own in the evening, we have a dog sitting service which can be arranged, although to avoid disappointment, we suggest you book in advance where possible. The dog sitting service is £25.00 per hour with a three-hour minimum and this can be booked directly with one our three approved sitters.
There are just a few housekeeping rules you should be aware of, firstly we can only accommodate one dog per room in this area of the house, secondly, we will provide clean and sanitised Dog Beds for your use so don’t bring your own as they will not be accepted, so please specify the required bed size when you book. Last but not least, dogs are not allowed on the beds or furniture. If evidence of this is found there will be an added service charge of £100 per night.
Finally, the cost per dog is £25.00 per night and this should be paid when you reserve your room. If you have any other question about our dog areas and rooms, then feel free to contact our Estate Manger Callum Heath directly on 01539 536653 or his mobile 07872 399 755.
